Kingsbury Apartments - Vista Ave, Portland

These OLD, OLD, Portland apartment buildings are amazing! They really don't make 'em like they used to! 

I've had the opportunity to photograph about 16 of these old apartment buildings this year and they are so cool! Most of them are in the Portland area, and most of them are around 100 years old. They have such amazing architecture and details! A 600 sq ft1 bedroom at the Kingsbury Apartments will set you back about $1000 a month.

Locked Front Entry

This building has a locked front door with intercom. residents have a code to get in. 

Dual Purpose Rooms

Many of these buildings have dual purpose rooms with "Murphy Beds" and sliding doors. One side can be a bedroom, the other a living room, or you can have 2 bedrooms if you have a roommate.

Kitchen

Yeah... it's tiny, but perfectly functional, and if living in an apartment in downtown Portland is your thing, you'll love it, large or small.

Built-Ins

These apartments are full of built-in storage.

Bathroom

CHECK OUT THIS BATHROOM!  Okay, the toilet has been updated, but other than that, it's like stepping back in time. 

Wood Floors and Balconies

I believe many of the apartments still sport their original wood floors, like a classic dinner jacket that never goes out of style.

Huh. I waxed eloquent. Sorry. It was an accident.

Many of the apartments come with a balcony as well, with wrought iron railings.

Ornate Details

This decorated with so many ornate details. Take a look at this fancy radiator.
