It was a dark, stormy day...
The wind promptly blew over my light stand and broke it in half.
I looked like a drowned rat by the time I finished the exterior photos, but after that everything seemed to go quite smoothly. 
I don't know if or when this home will be listed for sale, but I expect it to sell fast once it hits the market!

I took a drive out to Sandy, Oregon to photograph this vacant house. The agent ordered Soft Staging and Virtual Staging as well. Soft Staging involves adding real, decorative items such as a bouquet of flowers, a bowl of fruit, hand towels, etc. This home sold right away!

This perfect 1126 sq ft home sold in October. The agent did the staging and she does an absolutely spectacular job.

Funny story (but wasn't so funny at the time):

The agent staged the home the day before I arrived. While I was there taking photos, I noticed a little plaque in the kitchen that was hanging quite crookedly. To be totally honest, it didn't cross my mind that it was NOT supposed to be that way.

I took the pictures and a 3D tour and sent them off to the agent who was more than a little surprised and quite disappointed that I didn't bother to fix the sign. She was however, very kind and I was able "virtually" remove the sign in all the photos and doctor up the 3D tour as well. SO DUMB.

Kingsbury Apartments - Vista Ave, Portland

These OLD, OLD, Portland apartment buildings are amazing! They really don't make 'em like they used to! 

I've had the opportunity to photograph about 16 of these old apartment buildings this year and they are so cool! Most of them are in the Portland area, and most of them are around 100 years old. They have such amazing architecture and details! A 600 sq ft1 bedroom at the Kingsbury Apartments will set you back about $1000 a month.

Funny story about this photo. The front entrance of this house is shrouded in trees, so the most common angle ended up looking like a picture of a big garage.  I had a hard time finding an angle that really showcased this home. There is a walking trail in front of the house that has a small incline, so I though I'd see if I could get a better angle from there. 
Well, the angle was better, but there was a 6 foot chain link fence covered in shrubbery between me and the house and my tripod isn't tall enough to shoot over it. So I held my camera over my head and took a completely blind shot with my tilt shift lens. This is the result. I'm not even kidding.

I captured this home on the day of the eclipse- in fact just a few hours afterward. I was worried I wouldn't make it to my appointment, as it took me 3 times as long to get back in to town. However, I made it and this home does not disappoint!

 I have had the opportunity to photograph so many interesting places! This one was a referral from C & R Real Estate, a property management company (Thank you!). The building was built in 1913 and has many of the original vintage details included. It's right downtown, across from the Moda Center, with super easy access to the freeway.

This room can double as a living room or a bedroom, or both. Just pull out the Murphy bed under the "hutch". There is a closet on the right, and the kitchen entry is on the left.

For Real

This is an original fixture, and it does still work. They no longer function as telephones, but instead are used as an intercom system. Guests at the front door of the building can push a button to ring you in your apartment. I think it's so cool that they saved these old phones when updating the building throughout the years.

I normally don't include photos of toilets in my work portfolio, but it was the only way to get a shot of this clawfoot bathtub, and I was not going to leave that out!

Pease Rd Lot 3

I love photographing staged new construction! Staged home are already photo ready. I don't have to move anything around, I don't have to hide things (like soap dispensers or toilet brushes). They are just READY. This home on Pease Rd in Oregon City is just beautiful. Listed by Stephanie Muro, Broker, licensed in Oregon with Oregon Realty. 

My favorite things about this home: The beautiful wainscoting, and the bathroom in the master suite with the enormous walk-in closet! I don't have any exteriors of this home because it was raining hard that day and the realtor suggested I wait a couple days and go back to shoot the exteriors (it's only about a mile from where I live). And... then it sold! So I never did get any exteriors of this one.

It's always such a treat to meet new people. I had the opportunity to photograph this home for Terry Stewart, a broker licensed in Oregon with Oregon Realty. She was so kind to me and even offered to credit me in the private listing remarks. What a thoughtful thing for her to do! 

My favorite thing about this house is the back yard. When you enter it, it's like you're walking into a private oasis. The birds were singing and it was so peaceful!
